Tenant FAQ

Tenant insurance covers any type of property that you can rent as your main residence such as a single dwelling home, apartment or condo.

Yes. The property must be your primary place of residence. You also can’t leave the property vacant for more than 30 consecutive days without notifying your insurer.

If you’re planning to vacate your residence for more than 30 days, be sure to advise your insurer, otherwise you may risk being denied coverage in the event of theft or fire during your absence.

No. Since, tenant insurance covers the declared replacement value of your personal belongings against fire and theft and not the property itself, it’s not required to provide any lease details.

Try asking your landlord, realtor or neighbour. If all else fails, give us an approximate year.
